How to prepare your employee's data for auto enrolment.

General Setup

Any unwanted/Incorrect employee record in the payroll should be deleted or made a leaver or should be put On-Hold. If there are any activities processed, then you can P45 all such employees.  

You must ensure the employee record has got the mandatory fields filled-in properly. 

Title

All employees must have a title. Employees without a title will be rejected by the pension provider. 

Date of Birth

AE depends on the availability of a valid and accurate date of birth of the employees to assess the employees’ eligibility.  Failure to assess correctly will result in heavy penalties. You must make sure that you have set up the correct date of birth for all your employees. 

NI Number

NI Number helps in identifying the employees correctly by the various connected systems. It is mandatory to have the correct NI Numbers recorded for all employees.

Date of Joining

The employees should have a date of joining as this date is also considered during assessment.

Post Code

The employees should have a valid post code as this is required when submitting pension data to the pension provider. 

Email Address

The employees should have a valid email address as this is required when submitting pension data to the pension provider.
